The specialty of Pierre-André Tschanz is the individual design of “Toupin” cowbells by engraving a motif or a text. These engravings are drawn according to a drawing or a photograph and they do not influence the sound of the bells. 

For a long time cows have worn neckbands with bells around their neck in order to help the farmer to find them. This tradition exists all over Europe, but this very special kind of cowbell, the “Toupin”, exists only in the Alps region.
