Swiss National Holiday

MORGES - At the occasion of the Swiss national holiday there is a big firework display over Lake Geneva, which you can very well admire from the quays of Morges.

In Switzerland there is the tradition to light a big bonfire. These big fires, set up on hills, remind of the former times when bonfires were used to transmit messages.

Since a few years there is the offer of a farm breakfast on 1st August (www.brunch.ch).

Information

The 1st August is mainly celebrated on the quays, on the Place de la Navigation (beside the Castle of Morges). There is an official part, a torchlight procession, a bonfire, musical performances, food and refreshments and animations for children.
