After working as a mathematics teacher, Sylvie ESQUERRÉ is now passionately committed to stoneware and wood sculpture.
Her vocation to be useful to others by sharing her knowledge finds a deep resonance in clay modelling. For her, this art form, which teaches patience and resilience, represents a three-way connection: with nature, with herself and with others.
Her artistic quest is to create a harmonious, poetic and original aesthetic, expressed through forms that are sometimes organic, sometimes abstract and unusual, as shown in the two series presented in this exhibition.
Inspired by Ecuador, where the artist lived for many years, the "TED, Toutes Égales, Toutes Différentes" series seeks to convey humanist values, and invites us to appreciate the richness of diversity in Nature and Humanity.
The "Céramique & Co" series elegantly fuses clay with a variety of materials (metal, wood, mother-of-pearl), exploring the profound link between art and human relationships.
The artist's motto:
"Life is not as it is portrayed ... it is as you colour it!
