A quintet's take on Joe Henderson
The music of the “Our Thing” quintet follows in the footsteps of saxophonist Joe Henderson. The group covers several of this jazz giant's compositions, sometimes arranging them in its own style.
Founded by Nicolas Zeitoun, the group has its sights set on the future and, under the direction of the Vaud-based saxophonist, explores other, more personal jazz territories with a strong emphasis on rhythm.
Lam Dan Nguyen, trumpet and flugelhorn, is completing a Master's degree at the Haute école de musique de Lausanne. A promising trumpeter, he takes part in the Angelo Powers project, among others.
Pascal Wagner-Egger, drums, tackles many musical genres in the company of Florence Chitacombi, Marc Jufer and Julien Revilloud.
Nicolas Zeitoun, tenor saxophone. A jack-of-all-trades (jazz, funk or reggae), he has played with the talented Stefan Aeby and Alexis Gfeller.
Frédéric Paccaud, electric piano, teaches piano at the Montreux Conservatoire. Tenured pianist with the Montreux Jazz School Big Band.
Patrick Badoud, electric bass, plays his six-string with Jo Mettraux (two albums). He studied at the Conservatoire de Fribourg.
