Retrospective and 15 years of the Maison du Dessin de Presse
If we are to believe the cartoons published throughout the year, over 160 of which have been selected for this exhibition, the world is nothing but suffering, blood and flames. Press cartoons certainly make you laugh, but there comes a time when the alarm goes beyond laughter.
37 cartoonists took part, including some newcomers from the German-speaking part of Switzerland. The Maison du Dessin de Presse is delighted to include them in this selection, a sign of the greater synergy between Switzerland's different linguistic regions.
The Maison du Dessin de Presse is taking advantage of the opening day of the Retrospective on December 7 to celebrate its 15th anniversary at the Morges Cultural Centre. Its first exhibition, dedicated to André Paul Perret, opened on November 25, 2009. Since then, 54 exhibitions have followed, all devoted to press cartoons, often accompanied by meetings, round tables and workshops, making this venue a “real” home.
The day will include workshops for children and adults, portraits, book signings and live drawings on one of the walls of the Maison du Dessin de Presse.
The following artists will be present: Alexia, Barrigue, Bénédicte, Caro, Gigal, Herrmann, JoTed, Damien Leuba, Romain Mange, Mibé, Pigr, Pitch, Ramsès, Schlorian, TomZ, Vincent, Vincent L'Epée.
The artists will be signing their own albums, as well as the exhibition catalog, hot off the press.
At 5:30 p.m., the official opening of the Retrospective will take place with the team and committee of the Maison du Dessin de Presse, Municipal Councillor Vincent Jaques, and State Councillor Nuria Gorrite, who worked to create the Maison du Dessin de Presse when she was Syndic of Morges.
