This exhibition traces the roads of a singular trade: that of resonance wood.

This exhibition traces the roads of a singular trade: that of resonance wood.
During the golden age of European violin making between the 17th and 19th centuries, and still today, Switzerland is one of the largest producers of spruce wood used for violin making. This exhibition brings some answers to questions that have remained open to the present day.
How, from London to Cremona via Paris or Milan, the luthiers of previous centuries, tamed in Alpine wood? Who carried it? By what routes? Many questions that will answer with this exhibition.
