The Alexis Forel Museum explores the creative world of Jean Scheurer
The exhibition pays tribute to Jean Scheurer, a Lausanne artist (1942-2023) who explored a wide range of artistic fields. Conceived in close collaboration with the Association des amis de Jean Scheurer, the exhibition showcases the richness and diversity of Scheurer's work: paintings, sculptures, land art, drawings... The exhibition also revisits the artist's militant career, with his involvement in the founding of the IMPACT group in 1968, which advocated accessibility to art for all.
Photographs and documents, some of them previously unpublished, on loan from the Association des amis de Jean Scheurer (AAJS), the Archives de la Ville de Lausanne and the artist's family and friends, complete the approach to this resolutely protean and non-conformist artist.
