Medieval town of Yvoire

Yvoire is about 1h10 from Morges, via St-Prex and Rolle.
A breathtaking view of La Côte is offered to the visitors, as they sail towards France.

Yvoire is known for its medieval village and its Garden of the Five Senses.

A member of the Association des Plus Beaux Villages de France, Yvoire celebrated the 700th anniversary of its foundation in 2006.
Precious vestiges of the 14th century remain: gates, ramparts, castle...

A former fishing village on the shores of Lake Geneva, this medieval town is now a must-see tourist site!
The Savoie Mont Blanc Heritage Guides take visitors on a tour of this place steeped in history.

In addition to its exceptional natural setting, the town offers a multitude of activities and accommodation open to tourists in all seasons.

The proximity of the ski resorts makes it the ideal starting point for reaching the snowy slopes or the green mountain pastures in summer.

A town of water, Evian is famous for its internationally renowned spa facilities.

Culture also has its place in Evian! The Palais Lumière, its historical heritage and other sites devoted to art and entertainment add to the quality of the tourist offer.

As the Olympic capital, the city of Lausanne has more than one trick up its sleeve!

The capital of the Canton of Vaud is full of beautiful surprises, to be discovered around the corner of an alley or on a shady terrace. Don't miss out on discovering the Lausanners, locals who share their passions.

Everyone is sure to find a profile that suits them!

Montreux-Riviera is a must-see destination in French-speaking Switzerland.
The boat takes visitors to Vevey or Montreux, the two emblematic towns of this region.

At the foot of the Pre-Alps, it is a perfect starting point for hiking.
Montreux is also a cultural centre with its legendary jazz festival, the statue of Freddy Mercury, who spent part of his life there, and the Montreux Comedy Club festival, just to name a few. The city is also well-known for its Christmas market!

Vevey is not to be outdone with its Images festival, the most important visual arts biennial in Switzerland.
The Swiss Camera Museum is located on the large Market Square, which also hosts the traditional Fête des Vignerons every 20 years.

The Chillon castle

Chillon Castle in its present form is the result of several centuries of construction and redevelopment.
Excavations carried out since the end of the 19th century, in particular those led by the archaeologist Albert Naef (1862-1936), attest to the occupation of the site since the Bronze Age.

The rocky island on which the castle is built provided both natural protection and a strategic location for controlling the passage between northern and southern Europe. The fortress, built on a real island, has been shaped like an oval. It measures approximately 100m by 50m. It also took its name from the rock, from an ancient language, in which the word "Chillon" means rocky platform.

There is a pier right next to the castle.
From Morges, visitors must change boats in Lausanne.

Nyon is a great place to live, surrounded by Lake Geneva, the La Côte AOC vineyards and the Jura mountains.
Events are part of Nyon's art of living: every year in July, 230,000 people enjoy 6 days of concerts at the Paléo Festival. Other festival-goers gather for the Hivernales, Visions du Réel, Caribana, Rive Jazzy or the far° (festival of the living arts).

The castle and museums of Nyon evoke a patrician history:

With a rare Franco-Bernese influence, the castle of Nyon, which houses the Historical and Porcelain museums, is well surrounded in the region with the castles of Prangins (Swiss National Museum) and Coppet.

As for the distant past of Noviodunum, founded by Julius Caesar, it is told in the Roman Museum.

Geneva, a small city pearl, opens its eyes to the most beautiful mountain ranges of France.
From the right bank, where the United Nations is located, you can admire the Jet d'Eau overlooking the lake with Mont Blanc and the Alps in the background.
From the Jet d'Eau, you can see the delicate peaks of the Jura.

Geneva has all the assets of a large city in the heart of a natural setting dominated by parks, the lake and the surrounding mountains.

The cradle of watchmaking, the capital of peace, this little gem combines a fabulous heritage with the medieval charm of the Old Town, and a fine cuisine.

The Geneva inhabitants love it, and travellers are amazed every day. Geneva lies at the gateway to the Alps and is the ideal place to combine pleasure and discovery.

Thonon is a privileged destination from Morges, since during the summer, two shuttle boats per day link these two towns.
