Arboretum - Autumn walk
In autumn, the Aubonne Valley Arboretum takes on its most beautiful colours.
Discover a variety of tree species from all over the world!
For example, you can find the maple collection (Acer) which is dressed in its most beautiful colours in autumn.
Along the path, you can also discover the collection of tulip trees (Liriodendron) and copalms (Liquidambar) which complete the picture with their golden yellow and red tones.

Arboretum of the Vallon de l'Aubonne
Unique in Switzerland, the Arboretum pursues scientific, educational and recreational objectives. More than 3000 trees of temperate ecosystems from all over the world - Europe, Japan, USA... - flourish in the green Vallon de l'Aubonne. Walkers have a choice of several circuits zigzagging between trees and shrubs, river and pond. Didactic panels for learning and picnic places to relax enhance this pleasant nature excursion for the whole family.
Just as Morges has its tulips and the Riviera has its narcissus, the Arboretum has an impressive collection of cherry and magnolia trees that bloom in March and April every year.
In addition to the pleasure of the eyes, the Arboretum works for the survival of the species, for example by maintaining an orchard of yesteryear, where apple and rose trees are particularly well cared for.
The visitor centre and its exhibitions, as well as the Wood Museum, provide valuable additional information on all aspects of arboriculture. Guided tours are organized on Sundays in summer and on request.
The Arboretum also welcomes you for your private or professional events. 5 locations are at your disposal to best meet your needs.

Arboretum Wood Museum
The Wood Museum located on the first floor of the Le Plan farm, in the Vallon de l’Aubonne Arboretum, has a rich collection of woodworking tools. The 6,000 exhibits include 1,500 tools of the trade used by carpenters, winnowers, shingle makers, stringed instrument makers and clog-makers.
Jean-François Robert, forest engineer and former head of the Vaudois Forestry, Hunting and Fishing Department has been in charge of the design and management of the museum since 1974 and has published several research papers on the wood and forestry trades and their tools.
The Arboretum includes 4,000 species of trees and shrubs from temperate regions and, in particular, many varieties of apple trees which have ceased to be cultivated. Opened in 1968, this 200 ha arboretum is set in beautiful countryside above Lake Geneva.
