Morges Fleur du Léman Association
An organisation at the heart of the Tulip Festival and the Dahlia Festival
Founded in 2012, the Morges Fleur du Léman association is dedicated to organising two major events in Morges: the Tulip Festival and the Dahlia Festival. It receives a grant from the City of Morges as well as support from the Parks and Promenades Office.
An organisation driven by the dedication of its volunteers
In order to continue offering these two floral events, which are entirely free to the public, the association must self-fund around 80 per cent of the budget. These funds come mainly from sponsorship, flowerbed patronage, the sale of bulbs and tubers, events, fundraising meals, the raffle, promotional items and donations.
The association is run by an entirely voluntary committee, supported by two project managers (working full-time) and more than 80 dedicated volunteers. It also has around ten individual members, who meet every year at the Annual General Meeting held in June.
Award for Best Public Festival 2024
In October 2024, the Morges Fleur du Léman association travelled to The Hague, in the Netherlands, to represent the Morges Tulip Festival at the World Tulip Summit. Our flower festival had the honour of winning the award for best public festival.

Récompensé par l’award « 2019 World Tulip Destination Worth Travelling For ».
The ‘World Tulip Society’ is an organisation whose aim is to bring together all those involved in the tulip industry – including parks and festivals around the world, as well as retailers and artists who have taken the flower as their inspiration.
Every two years, the members of this association come together for the ‘World Tulip Summit’. This summit provides an opportunity to exchange ideas and celebrate the tulip and its history, and to forge links between the various stakeholders in the tulip sector.
The Morges Fleur du Léman association was thus awarded the ‘2019 World Tulip Destination Worth Travelling For’ prize.

Holds the VAUD AMBASSADEUR label since 2023 for its two flower shows.
Launched in 2022, the VAUD AMBASSADEUR community brings together businesses, producers and entrepreneurs from the canton of Vaud. Its aim? To foster a culture of networking and development opportunities in order to generate new synergies.
Accredited on the basis of some 23 criteria, these institutions shine as a collective and proudly fly the colours of the VAUD brand. They share common values that embody Vaud’s excellence and thus contribute to the canton’s identity and reputation.
The Morges Fleur du Léman association was awarded the VAUD AMBASSADEUR label in September 2023 for its two flower shows.

Intangible heritage – or living traditions – encompasses oral traditions, customs, festivals, and the skills and know-how associated with traditional trades.
SERAC’s Heritage Unit manages the Cantonal Inventory of Intangible Heritage and oversees the work of the Cantonal Commission for Tangible and Intangible Heritage (CCPMI). The Commission makes preliminary recommendations on grants from the Cantonal Fund for Tangible and Intangible Heritage and submits them to the Head of the Department of Culture, Infrastructure and Human Resources (DCIRH) for a decision.

It is a platform that offers recommendations and tools designed to help organise events in a sustainable manner.
The current platform was created in 2017 following the merger of CI Manifestation Verte and ecosport.ch. CI Manifestation Verte was founded in 2006 by cantons and towns and focused on the issue of waste. Ecosport.ch was established in 2001 with the backing of federal agencies and Swiss Olympic, and was dedicated to promoting greater sustainability in sporting events. Thanks to this merger, the platform has been able to bring together key expertise and offer valuable support to Swiss events of all kinds. The Summit Foundation supports the development of the platform in French-speaking Switzerland.

Switzerland has long been a key player in the field of sustainability, although this is sometimes overlooked. Topping numerous international rankings, the country is recognised for its efforts in the area of sustainable development. With the new sustainability strategy launched by Switzerland Tourism (ST) and the entire tourism sector, Switzerland now aims to become a global leader in sustainable tourism. The Swisstainable label reflects this commitment and recognises tourism stakeholders who implement responsible and environmentally friendly practices.
