Just a few kilometres away from Geneva, Lausanne and Yverdon-les-Bains, the Jura Vaudois regional nature park includes 30 localities, stretching from the peak of the Dôle to the medieval village of Romainmôtier. To the north is the Vallée de Joux, renowned for its lakes and watchmaking expertise. On the other side of the mountain range, overlooked by Mont-Tendre, the villages of the Jura foothills offer unobstructed views of Lake Geneva and the Alps. Numerous activities, hikes and excursions allow the visitor to discover its great landscapes and its traditionnal dry-stone walls.

Recognized as a Regional Nature Park by the Swiss Confederation in 2013, the park was created on the initiative of its inhabitants. It is distinctive for its extraordinary landscapes and its rich natural and cultural heritage. The Jura Vaudois regional nature park acts in favour of the local economy, sustainable tourism, respect for the environment and the quality of life for its inhabitants.

Discovery tours and workshops

From discovery to tasting, from encounter to exploration, the Jura vaudois regional nature park offers each year a programme of guided excursions for all publics.
Throughout the year, you will find educational workshops, tasty walks, animal observation and many more themed activities.

A paradise for hikers and thematic hikes

Thanks to a 523-kilometre network of walking trails, it is possible to admire magnificent wooded pastures, their chalets and dry-stone walls, all while enjoying a breathtaking view on the Geneva Lake basin and the Alps. During the winter, cycling and hiking give way to cross-country skiing, downhill skiing and snowshoeing.

The Jura Vaudois regional nature park has selected for you hiking trails of varying length and difficulty, , all connected to public transport. Along the way, you will discover the park's must-see places as well as good addresses to taste the delicious local products.
Also, don't miss the themed trails! They are enhanced with informative signs or illustrated with explanatory booklets. A great way to discover the park's heritage!

Some hikes are from the notebook: "Sentiers de découverte NatuRando", which contains 34 thematic hiking routes.

VTT and ebikes

The hilly terrain of the Jura Vaudois park and its small roads are ideal for cycling. The routes presented here are varied and linked to public transport. Mountain bikers will appreciate the signposted routes of Suisse Mobile.

Discover the local specialties labelled by the park. The label (green square) guarantees that most of the production process takes place in the park, in compliance with sustainable development and the Terre Vaudoise brand criteria. Producers who have signed a pertnership agreement participate in a programme to strenghten biodiversity.

The Jura Vaudois regional nature park offers a multitude of possibilities for excursions and accommodation in the heart of a peaceful and preserved region.
Numerous alpine huts and 18 chalets producing various cheeses in the traditional way, including Gruyère d'alpage AOP, allow visitors to savour local products.

Finally, the charming villages of the park also boast the infrastructure, offering the guests a well-deserved rest before setting off on a voyage of news discoveries.
Discover typical places, local cuisine and sometimes the world of cheese making in one of  the park's alpine chalets. You will find cheese specialities, regional products and typical dishes that will delight you. The owners of the premises, always ready to reveal their stories and cooking secrets, will fascinate you intellectually and gustatively.
