And what exactly is Slow Tourism? Just like slow food, it is a declination of the slow movement, which itself was a response to the acceleration of modern life and now a worldwide known and appreciated concept. Slow Tourism is therefore and in some ways an antidote to the stress of daily life, a way of traveling quietly to meet local populations, while adopting an eco-responsible behavior.
The region of Morges and its charming little towns on the shores of Lake Geneva is perfectly suited for the "slow" spirit. What’s a better way to vacation than to stroll along the lake and combine culture, gastronomy and shopping? Do you prefer the countryside? Our lovely region is easily accessible by public transport and our many tourist service providers will welcome and/or accommodate you with great pleasure. Do you prefer to travel to attend a scheduled event? The Morges Region offers a whole range of special occasions to come and have a stay.
In the same "Slow" spirit, Morges Région Tourisme has been one of the pilot destinations since 2019 for the Innotour project "Destinations without Barriers" in partnership with the Claire & George Foundation. This project aims to develop offers accessible to people with reduced mobility (wheelchair users, seniors and families with prams). Universal accessibility is a concept that is anchored in the destination's "Slow Tourism for All" positioning.
Since we have declined it in 5 different ways, you will be in Slow Tourism’s spirit whatever you decide to have as a program for your trip. Through all 4 seasons and atmosphere changes that accompany them, we kindly invite you to take the time to… savor the pleasure of the table… taste local products and wines, and immerse yourself in the culture and heritage of the region. Discover below all our Slow Tourism proposals, as well as upcoming events.
Authenticity, quality of life, return to your roots, disconnection/reconnection, sharing, discovery... do these words awake your desire to travel? You might be ready to become a Slow Traveler!
We look forward to welcoming you!
