How does a fish walk?

Did you know that some fish can jump more than a meter to clear an obstacle? That others travel over 7,000 kilometers to reproduce? Or that some lay their eggs in a freshwater mussel?
Far from clichés, the fish of our lakes and rivers are athletes, outstanding navigators and models of adaptation. Yet they are often overlooked and threatened.
The “How do fish walk?” exhibition takes you on an immersive journey through their world, combining aquariums, an observation river and educational modules. You’ll discover how a fish breathes, sees, smells, grows, camouflages and navigates between lakes and rivers thanks to an astonishing sixth sense.
This exhibition opens the jubilee festivities of the center’s inauguration, which took place in 2015, just 10 years ago. Since its opening, La Maison de la Rivière has welcomed almost 100,000 visitors to the museum, in addition to the 60,000 children who have dipped their hands in the Boiron de Morges to experience a nature-based animation, and the 40,000 people who have taken part in a specific activity or engaged in an environmental action with their company.
