Come and admire the "Silver Parrot" statue in the "Parc de l'Indépendance".
For the 50th edition of the Tulip Festival, the Association Morges Fleur du Léman has commissioned the agency gutundgut to carry out a creative project in the public space. This mandate resulted in a sculpture representing a 4.5 metre high tulip. This uniquely beautiful sculpture offers the Festival a permanent residence in the Independence Park and gives the city an eternal springtime.
The talented artist Leo Orta was chosen to create this sculpture. The young Frenchman, who completed his training at the Design Academy in Eindhoven, had previously shown his work at international fairs such as the Art Basel or Frieze Art Fair in London and was part of the exhibition programmes of museums such as the Museo Marino Marini, the Design Museum in Gent or the Musée Le Tripostal in Lille. With the "Silver Parrot", Leo Orta was able to realise his greatest work of art to date.
