Proof of this is that there have never been so many signatures in our Swiss Retrospective. Some are well-known names, others are new, like a lifeline. Cartooning survives, like a light shining through the cracks, multiplying talents, generations, humor, and hopes.
Personified by Pigr's cartoon chosen for the poster, collapse underpins the new edition of the Swiss Press Cartoon Retrospective. The scenography features rubble where cartoons become indispensable relics for the maintenance of democracy, undermined by autocrats, led by Donald Trump. The President of the United States is very much present, as are Swiss ministers, airplanes, and wars throughout this chronology of 180 drawings retracing the year 2025, signed by 36 cartoonists from all over Switzerland.
