Empreinte explores notions of influence and heritage in a social dimension. Between the weight of the past and the desire for emancipation, the performers question the gestures we inherit and those we choose to create.
Through movement and live music, Empreinte addresses heritage as a burden from which each person seeks to free themselves to invent their own codes. The choreographers question the influences we undergo or exert on those around us. The piece highlights the performers' desire to appropriate a gestural vocabulary or, conversely, to break free from it in order to better emancipate themselves and build their own identity.
