The Chateau of Denens was built in the 14th century by the Counts of Savoy, who were the village proprietors. Its transformation into a place of leisure dates back to the 17th century.
The castle has changed little since 1600. The castle has been passed down eight Bernese generations through, the Tavel family and the De Buren family through matrimony. The De Buren sons represent the 7th generation to reside in the castle.
Today you can discover the family’s different wines, but equally regional produce like truffles from Denens.
