Eclepens - Canal d'Entreroches

Les vestiges d’un projet un peu fou : relier la Mer du Nord avec la Mer Méditerranée. C’est le long d’une partie de ce canal que vous vous baladerez.

Le canal d'Entreroches à Eclépens, voie navigable devant relier la Méditerranée à la mer du Nord, a été construit entre 1638 et 1648. Situé en plein centre de l'Europe, il avait pour but de relier le lac de Neuchâtel au Léman. Ce canal fut utilisé pour la navigation marchande entre Cossonay et Yverdon jusqu'en 1829. Il traverse le Mormont. Proche du village d'Eclépens, des vestiges impressionnants du canal ainsi que la maison du passeur subsistent.
