In a district with nearly five hundred bell towers, only Orny offers the unique feature of its four-sided bell tower made entirely of stone.
The stately home was undoubtedly originally the old rectory, as in Eclépens.
The current castle was built in the mid-18th century by Victor de Gingins.
The pediment, a listed monument, bears the coats of arms of Victor de Gingins and his wife, née Asperlin.
From time immemorial, Orny was part of the great barony of La Sarraz.
The lords gave the church of Orny – then a parish church – to the Abbey of Lac de Joux before 1177.
In 1926, the municipality adopted the coat of arms used by the barons of La Sarraz since the 14th century and added the bell tower of the old church, one of the most venerable monuments in the Pays de Vaud.
Although the church existed in the 11th century, no part of the current building can be attributed with certainty to that period.
