Take a behind-the-scenes look at the collaboration between the talented actress and this extraordinary designer.
Born in Ixelles, Belgium, on 4 May 1929 and died in Tolochenaz, Switzerland, on 20 January 1993, Audrey Hepburn was a Hollywood star, a fashion icon and Hubert de Givenchy's muse. She conquered the world with her natural elegance and sparkling looks. Yet fate did not smile on her immediately. The child of separated parents, she was brought up in the Netherlands during the Second World War. In poor health, she was forced to abandon her dream of becoming a prima ballerina and eventually found refuge in the theatre and cinema, where she was given the most beautiful roles and won an Oscar, as well as many other prestigious awards. It was as a mother, and then as a UNICEF ambassador, that Audrey played her most beautiful roles, and that she used her celebrity to devote herself to the underprivileged and in particular to humanitarian aid for children.
The exhibition highlights Hubert de Givenchy's artistic universe, and in particular his close relationship with Audrey Hepburn. In particular, you will be able to admire 10 "haute-couture" dresses that the couturier made and that have a link with the actress, as well as fashion magazines and accessories. It will also be a unique opportunity to discover previously unpublished sketches by Hubert de Givenchy.
