Along Lake Geneva on the Igor-Stravinsky quay, between the Temple and the Parc de Vertou, the Dahlias promenade extends over more than one and a half kilometres. It is in this enchanting setting that about 2,250 dahlias have been planted, which compete in beauty from August to October.
The Quays of Dahlia, which are completely free to access, are a unique event in French-speaking Switzerland. The purpose of this exhibition-sale is to highlight the various facets of this summer flower.
For the 24th edition of this colourful event, the public can discover nearly 100 varieties spread along an idyllic walk, on foot or by Little Train.
It was in 1996 that the Morgian florist Ernest Lüthi decided to bring together various partners and to launch the idea of an exhibition of dahlias on the Quay Igor Stravinsky. Since then, this event has attracted both professionals who can come and discover the technical aspects of the different varieties and the general public who can admire their beauty.
During flowering, the list of varieties will also be available at the House of Tourism in Morges and on the two board between the Temple and Vertou Parc.
